At the risk of provoking an angry mob to kick down my door, I have never been the biggest fan of K-pop, but I do love a great developer name. That is why I am delighted to say that HyperBeard Games has announced the release of their new sim, K-Pop Academy.
You will be placed in the shoes of a new manager with the goal of cultivating a host of up-and-coming K-pop idols, forming the ultimate music empire. Managers will be in charge of looking after pretty much every aspect of these characters as you train them to master songs and head towards stardom.
Throughout your new career, you will encounter 18 different idols, each with their own personality, zodiac sign, blood type, height, and preferences. Quite what zodiac signs and blood types have to do with singing I have no idea. Either way, you will have to bond with them and help them grow, and then when you consider them ready, let them loose on the stage.
Before you reach the concert level, though, there will be a lot to do. After hiring your new singers you will have to start them out in rehearsals, which will net you Coins. K-pop is a hungry business, so you will need to spend some of that to feed your new stars, but of course, each has specific tastes, so bear that in mind.
Using what Coins you haven’t eaten, you can upgrade your academy. Buy new furniture and equipment to keep your idols happy, and maybe splurge on new clothes and accessories to keep them happy. Nobody wants to attend the concert of an unfashionable singer.
Step forward and fulfil your dreams of world domination by growing the next BTS with K-Pop Academy, available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
