Candidates Day São Paulo City Hall Due to the reverberations surrounding the release of the first survey of the second round, various parts of the city were marked by an agenda. Elections and by asking supporters of Pablo Marcel (PRTB) for votes.
This Friday, the 11th, candidate Guilherme Poulos (PSOL) It held a rally in the neighborhoods north of São Paulo and adopted a strategy of “vandalism” by residents of the region. Mayor and re-election candidate, Ricardo Nunes (MDB)Taking part in an entrepreneurial event, he confirmed a meeting with his political ally, former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), on the 22nd.
Poulos is betting on a motorcade in the neighborhoods Nunes won
Returning to Sao Paulo after a stopover in Brasilia, this Friday, he continued to seek votes from Sao Paulo voters. Today, Poulos visited the Fregucia do and Brasílandia neighborhoods in the north of the capital. These constituencies had the most split vote between candidates in the first round, but Nunes won by a narrow margin, the Electoral Court said.
Poulos started the agenda in Brasílandia, where he was “interviewed” by residents of the neighborhood.. In today’s action, called “Se vira nos 50”, which has already been carried out by the candidate in other years, he answered voters’ questions about his proposals for the city. Among the “interviewees” were children, young people and old people. The PSOL candidate challenged himself to answer the questions in 50 seconds.
“I do this in every street action […] I look at my opponent and it sounds like a robot talking, rehearsed by a marketer. I want to talk face to face with our people on the street”, Poulos said about the strategy he now follows.
Candidate Pablo Marcelin (PRTB) continued his nod to voters. A resident of the area said that he voted for the businessman in the first round of municipal elections and was thinking about not going to vote in the second round. Poulos later argued that he was trying to sway the vote in his favor. This week of the campaign, both Boulos and Nunes vied for Marcel's votes.
“I know a lot of people who voted for Marshall, because they were angry, they didn't see City Hall helping them in their lives. Now, in this second round, there are two paths: Leave the same group that is already in power. Or vote for those who want change, that's mine”, Poulos said.
Later, the candidate went to Largo da Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Ó and from there began a motorcade through the area. The event lasted about 1h30 hours, featuring the characters of 'Carreta Furacão' and songs such as “It's the carriage of change, it's the carriage of love”. Along the way, Polos waved to voters from his car.
In an interview with the press, Boulos discussed the revelations of the first survey of the second round of elections, carried out by Datafolha, which indicated that Nunes had 55% of voting intentions, while the PSOL candidate had 33%. Research shows that the soloist is in the lead in terms of rejection, with 58% of voters saying that they would not vote for him under any circumstances.. In comparison, 37% of those interviewed rejected Emedipista.
When asked what strategies he would adopt to reduce this high rejection rate, Poulos only said, “It represents a change in the city of São Paulo.” “If you are satisfied with your health today, do you think you will receive good care at UBS? [Unidade Básica de Saúde]Find medicine and a doctor, and you agree with the propaganda of my enemy. Come with us if you know that reality is not like that. […] If you know São Paulo needs change, you agree with us. This is what will be at stake in the second round of campaigning,” he announced.
Nunes participates in an entrepreneurship event
Ricardo Nunes visited the 2024 Entrepreneurship Fair organized by Sebrae-SP this Friday. During the event, Nunes mentioned that he will hold a meeting with political leaders next week with the participation of Bolsonaro.
“It was scheduled for the 22nd, he [Bolsonaro] will be “At the beginning, there will be a meeting with PL leaders, including state and federal representatives and party councilors, so that we can strengthen these last days of the campaign,” Nunes said.
Optimistic about the election situation, the mayor commented on the Datafolha survey. “I am very optimistic, we still have a lot of days, so it is clear that nothing will win the election. [Seguiremos com] A lot of humility, hard work, hands on, talking to the community and strengthening our programs. I was fascinated by the opposition's rejection [Boulos]”, these.
As for political support, the mayor made it clear that he does not want any kind of connection with Councilor Rubinho Nunes (Unio Brasil), who abandoned his campaign to support Marcel during the mayoral race. Rubinho made the decision after Marcel's rise in the polls. The former coach finished third in the first round and is now out of the competition.
“I want to distance myself from Rubinho Nunes because of his profile, which I consider out of character. What we want are the voters of Marseille, and polls show that our candidacy meets their wishes,” declared the mayor.
Nunes again suggested that the media create “pools” to reduce the number of debates until the second round. He believes three debates will be enough to accommodate the campaign agenda. “I hope we can have a level discussion. I commented that attacks and lies are what I don't want for the election campaign.”
