Those itching to get their heist on with Payday 3 are being left high and dry, following the servers proving a little too popular even in the game’s early access launch today.
Though the Payday 3 early access has now begun, many players are struggling to connect to the game’s servers to get their first few games in, and it’s causing a lot of frustration in the Payday community. Some are even going so far as to say they’re regretting forking out the additional cost for the game’s early access, as they’re currently unable to play the game during the headstart period. “I can’t believe I actually pre-ordered gold for this” begins a thread by Tucktron184 on the Payday subreddit.
“Dude I’m pretty pissed” adds FinchTicker. “It’s been out an hour, can’t even start a heist offline” and lamenting the fact that the game has very few offline options at launch, despite the removal of the maligned DRM Denuvo. “On top of that, the tutorials are terrible. Couldn’t figure out that the drill was already on my person in the first one, and the aim window to trigger it on the door was so tiny. 2nd one I can’t figure out how to get by the 2nd room on a stealth mission. I dunno if I’m dumb and missing something or if it’s a terrible tutorial, Either way it gives no hints or guidance.”
So far it does seem very much like the regular teething troubles that do tend to hit online-focused games in its first few hours, but Starbreeze and Deep Silver will definitely want to be sorting these issues out as soon as possible. Payday 3 is set to have its full launch in just a few days time, and it certainly doesn’t look good when the game is opened up to more players, especially given Payday 3 will be on Game Pass later this week.
Hopefully, it’ll be sorted soon enough. For more on the game, check out our Payday 3 heist list or if you’re having tech issues, check out our Payday 3 best graphics settings to fix stuttering and low FPS. Payday 3 arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC for everyone else on September 21.
