“Football players in Saudi Arabia make more money than they spend.” This statement should probably be reconsidered. Because Neymar proves just the opposite.

The Brazilian footballer, who is expected to earn €100 million a year at Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal Stadium, has just bought a new penthouse in Dubai. This was announced by the owner of the building which is still under construction.

The apartment cost 200 million dirhams – equivalent to 51 million euros. Neymar bought half a year's salary and bought a beachfront property in Miami last month. This cost approximately 25 million euros.

However, Neymar will not be able to move to Dubai until 2027 at the earliest. The Bugatti House should then be completed and ready for occupancy. The high-rise building in downtown Dubai will contain 182 apartments, 11 of which will be so-called sky mansions. Neymar has now acquired one of them. The 32-year-old has access to a private swimming pool and a car lift, which takes a private fleet of vehicles to his own penthouse.

Neymar hasn't made headlines on the pitch for a long time. He has made just seven appearances on the pitch since joining Saudi Arabia from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023. He has missed a year entirely due to a torn ACL. In his second short-term appearance after returning, he suffered another minor injury in early November and had to miss the final game.

Al Hilal is rumored to be looking to part ways with Neymar in January due to his injury-prone nature. Commenting on rumors of a move to Palmeiras, the president of Sao Paulo said: “Neymar will not transfer to Palmeiras. This club is not a medical clinic.”

But the attacker must find a club to continue maintaining his expensive lifestyle. (NIH)
