The new Panty and Stocking and Garterbelt anime series from Studio TRIGGER has finally shared its first artwork and details this week at Anime Expo 2024.
The first artwork, logo, and main staff for the new new Panty and Stocking and Garterbelt anime series were announced by Studio TRIGGER. Here’s a full look at the first art and official logo:
Studio Trigger will animate the series. The previous Panty & Stocking series was animated by now-defunct Gainax, but the staff that worked on the previous series would end up on Studio Trigger.
Hiroyuki Imaishi is returning as director, but this time as a member of Studio Trigger. Hiromi Wakabayashi is again listed as main scriptwriter along with Imaishi. Wakabayashi is also serving as a concept planner.
Atsushi Nishigori returns as character designer, along with Masaru Sakamoto, Sushio, and Shigeto Koyama. Yoh Yoshinari is listed as a “special specialist”, but it could be speculated as key animator or setting animator, since he worked on these roles in the previous anime.
It is not known if the previous cast of anime will reprise their roles, though more info would be revealed at Anime Expo.
The original Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt anime was launched in 2010, and described two angels being kicked out of heaven for being foul-mouthed and raunchy. They are out with allies like Garterbelt to hunt down ghosts from the abyss between Heaven and Earth.
