Ubisoft has just announced that New Game + will be arriving in Assassin’s Creed Mirage next week. This highly anticipated feature will allow players to relive Basim’s story from the beginning while retaining their hard-earned progress and unlocking new rewards.

New content is never bad, and while this game may not have been as well received as other Assassin’s Creed games, maybe a New Game + mode will help. According to the tweet, Ubisoft is also working diligently on a permadeath mode. This mode, expected to be released early next year, will give players only one life to beat the whole game with.

I’ve played Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and considering all of the glitches and bugs, it’s hard to imagine this will be as fun as permadeath in other games. Even the awful parkour, which I think is the worst take on parkour in the series, leads to unfair death. We’ll see if Ubisoft makes the game better with permadeath in the future.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an attempt to take players back to the series’ core elements, focusing on stealth, parkour, and a narrative-driven experience. It’s more like a mix between the new Assassin’s Creed and the old, but imagine a fan made it and not the developer because that’s how it feels when you play it. I have been a fan since the original, but I think this is the worst Assassin’s Creed to date. I love the era and was so excited for this game, but it was a huge disappointment.

If you’ve already beaten the game and want to try with New Game +, your chance is coming next week.
