Call of Duty will continue to be an annual series meaning we are set to get another new installment later this year. Each new entry typically comes out between October and November, but we don’t have to wait nearly as long for details to be revealed. Reports suggest that the new Call of Duty 2024 official reveal is imminent, and exciting details have leaked in advance of Activision pulling the curtain aside.
There is plenty for Call of Duty fans to anticipate in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 this month. Raven Software have promised to nerf an overpowered ‘sweaty’ gun that fans hate, meanwhile, a new exciting map and mode has leaked for the MW3 4/20 event. In addition to this new mode, the upcoming 4/20 event will let fans get a bundle that literally turns enemies into joints.
While the near futures of Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 are bright, it’s only natural that fans are curious about the newest CoD for 2024. Details about Activision’s newest installment have already leaked, and an official reveal is said to be happening soon.
Call of Duty 2024 reveal details leaked
According to The Verge, the Call of Duty 2024 new release will be shown at the Xbox showcase on June 9th. It will reportedly be featured alongside a new Gears of War as well as Avowed, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and Indiana Jones.
While Call of Duty 2024 will feature at the Xbox showcase in June, Insider Gaming reports that it will be officially revealed before then. There’s no specified date or even month, but Insider Gaming says it will be ‘revealed prior to the showcase in a more “traditional fashion” and outside of Warzone’.
As for the June showcase, it’s reported that there will be ‘some form of deep dive into the game, presumably a campaign mission walkthrough’. Once the June showcase is over, it’s then expected that ‘We could hear more about its multiplayer offering around August and zombies soon after’.
In regard to Call of Duty 2024, some details have already leaked. It’s reportedly called Black Ops Gulf War, and the multiplayer beta release window may have been shared online. Reports slate it to come out in October, and prominent leaker Tom Henderson has said that it will feature an open-world campaign comparable to Far Cry.
This open-world will reportedly see players and their squad navigate an open-world map ‘more akin to that of Far Cry than anything we’ve seen before in the Call of Duty universe’. There will be vehicles to drive, along with a fast travel system, and the campaign is being developed by Raven Software.
Away from the rumored Black Ops Gulf War, the upcoming Xbox June Showcase will also allegedly provide an announcement for Activision and Blizzard back catalog of games now owned by Microsoft. This could be Call of Duty and more Blizzard games coming to Xbox Game Pass following on from Diablo 4.
In other CoD news, several Call of Duty games are officially dead as servers go offline.
