Back in May, Geekify announced a Neopets TTRPG Kickstarter. This is part of a franchise revival of the beloved virtual pet franchise by World of Neopia. The series still has dedicated fans since the campaign has raised more than twice its initial funding goal.
The Neopets TTRPG Kickstarter Campaign
As the name implies, the Neopets TTRPG is an adaptation of the characters and setting of the virtual pet series. Players take on the role of different kinds of Neopets, can build their characters through a classless, skill-based, dice-driven experience.
The main draw of the campaign is the Core Rulebook. It contains everything players need to start playing. Rules for combat, loot, and item crafting, lore spanning 25 years of the franchise’s history, places of interest across multiple regions, 55 different playable Neopet species, NPCs, spells and abilities.
The core rulebook is available alongside a prewritten module. The Fall of Faerieland, follows the web storyline of the same name. Faeries are turning to stone, and the heroes need to find out how and why.
Lastly, the Neopets TTRPG Kickstarter has several add-ons and stretch goals. These include custom dice, dice bags, GM Screens, map packs, and character journals. The stretch goals are more ambitious, including providing bonus PDFs at $100,000, Event Card Decks at $225,000, and additional modules at $500,000.
The pledge tiers for the campaign are as follows:
- Core Rulebook (Digital) for $20: A PDF of the Core Rulebook
- Core Rulebook & Faerieland (Digital) for $35: A PDF of the Core Rulebook and The Fall of Faerieland adventure module
