NBA 2K24 discussions a lot of the time come down to what type of shooting do you prefer? Real FG% is one of the options along with the most-used and default option of user timing. OS user TC has sliders for those who want to go more the simulation route.
When using Real FG% for users, this mostly boils down to hunting for quality shots rather than worrying about when to release the button. From there, the game calculates things based on ratings and hot spots and such and gives you an outcome that lines up with “real” percentages. It’s quite popular among more sim-minded folks who just want to play a more “coached” style of game or simply don’t feel comfortable with user timing.
