A new Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair has been announced. While Wizards of the Coast’s promotional drops have featured crossovers with Hatsune Miku and Assassins Creed, the new Brain Dead Secret Lair will showcase the work of the Los Angeles-based artist collective.
The Brain Dead Secret Lair Announcement
According to an official press release, the Brain Dead Secret Lair was announced as part of their upcoming Inside and Elevator Superdrop. The Secret Lair is comprised of three different drops, Brain Dead: Creatures, Brain Dead: Lands, and Brain Dead: Staples.

- Consecrated Sphinx
- Chaotic Goo
- Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker
- Meteor Golem
- Wurmcoil Engine
Brain Dead: Lands will highlight art by Gage Lindstein, and Hank Reavis. As the name implies, the drop will contain two copies of all five basic land cards. One will feature art by Lindstein; the other by Reavis.
Lastly, Brain Dead: Staples will contain cards every player needs in Commander. These titular staple cards will get treatments by Bardo Bread and Jackson Epstein. Those cards are as follows:
- Lightning Greaves
- Skullclamp
- Sol Ring
- Thought Vessel
- Command Tower
Each drop in the Brain Dead Secret Lair will be available in both non-foil (MSRP $29.99) and foil (MSRP $39.99). In addition, Brain Dead will launch a collection of Secret Lair-themed merchandise Tuesday, July 30.
