Today was an EA Sports College Football 25 kind of day and we’re here for it. Lost in the shuffle of the confirmation of all 134 FBS schools being in the game, some of the voices of the game, PA announcer and NIL contract news, ESPN dropped quite a few noteworthy updates. While some of them have been on our radar, there are some nice tidbits of info. Check out the highlights in the bullet list below, but make sure to read the full article here.
Holt wouldn’t go into exact detail about how EA Sports is planning on implementing the transfer portal and NIL, just that they’ll be in there. It looks like there will be “at least some” representation to force players to make decisions that will affect their program-building in dynasty mode or what happens with their individual player in Road to Glory.
- Conference realignment is in.
- All 134 FBS teams are in.
- 12-team College Football Playoff is in.
- Every bowl game is in.
- If a player chooses not to opt in on the NIL contract, he will not be able to be created in the game by users.
- FCS won’t be included at launch. Maybe it comes later in an update, but it’s most likely something for next year.
- Real coaches will not be included this year, it might be something they add next year or somewhere down the road.
- Focus is to make sure all 134 teams play like they do in real life from recruiting, play styles and on the field.
- Individual players will not have face scans for at least the first year.
- The game runs on the same Frostbite engine as Madden but should look and feel different.
- All 2024 uniforms will be in the game along with some alternates.
- Presentation elements will feature stadium and campus renderings, sounds, detailed seats, trophies, statues and more.
- Senior Bowl is in? Hard to say. While it was tweeted, it wasn’t retweeted by the official account.
