- Minecraft players can now use a new command to change the size of spiders, turning them into a nightmare-inducing terror.
- The new command allows players to scale down spiders, making them smaller and more difficult to kill, increasing the horror factor.
- Other attributes of the spiders, such as health and damage, can also be modified using additional commands, offering more ways to “extend the torture” caused by these tiny arachnids.
A Minecraft player has used a new command to change spiders. Minecraft players see a variety of mobs during the day, like pigs and cows, but it’s when night falls that Minecraft players come across much less friendly mobs.
One of these dangerous mobs is the spider, which often appear at night or in dark corners of caves. If the lighting level is sufficient, the spiders will remain passive and only attack if attacked. Spiders aren’t one of Minecraft’s most powerful mobs, but they are something to pay attention to while adventuring. To give them a boost, one Minecraft player made a tweak and turned the spiders into a terrible nightmare.
Minecraft Player Spends Over a Year Recreating ‘Free Bird’ In-Game
A Minecraft player recreates the iconic song ‘Free Bird’ in-game, and shares the impressive result with the game’s community.
Reddit user PenguinTheOrgalorg has given Minecraft spiders the size of real-life spiders using the new “size” attribute command. With the addition of the generic.scale command, Minecraft players can change the size of any mob. And that’s what the player did, reducing the size of a series of spiders in scales 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3, and filling a room with them. When the spiders are released, they start chasing and attacking like in a horror movie, showing how scary Minecraft can be. It’s worth mentioning that, as well as changing the size of mobs, the generic.scale command allows Minecraft players to change the scale of their characters.
Players were impressed, and quite frightened, by how nightmare-inducing the new command could be by making Minecraft‘s spiders so small. One Redditor jokingly told the OP to “post a command to add a flamethrower,” and another gave the idea of creating a spider’s nest in the Nether. In the comments, PenguinTheOrgalorg explained that it’s possible to modify the spiders’ health, damage, and other attributes thanks to the introduction of more Minecraft commands for players to explore. Another Redditor added that these Minecraft commands can “extend the torture” caused by the spiders, making them so small that players have difficulty killing them and can’t stop taking damage.
The new “size” attribute command is part of snapshot 23w51b available for Minecraft: Java Edition. As well as giving players new ways of manipulating mobs, it added the armadillo and wolf armor to Minecraft. With an official release planned for major update 1.21, Mojang gave Minecraft players a preview of the two long-awaited features in snapshot 23w51b. But wolf armor didn’t win over Minecraft players as expected.
