Today Microsoft and third-party developers shared news about add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator, including a relevant aircraft release.
First of all, Microsoft released the Famous Flyer 7 aircraft, the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries MU-2. It was supposed to launch over a month ago to celebrate Tokyo Game Show, but it was delayed due to the pending licensing contract.
Finally, we can purchase it directly in the in-sim marketplace for $14.99.
It’s developed by iniBuilds, and it’s available with five liveries, White, Executive White, Executive Black, Xbox Aviators Club, and Aviators Club.
Next, is an update from Aero Dynamics, which showcased its beautiful McDonnell Douglas KC-10/DC-10. Not only does it look great, but it’s also going to be free when it finally releases, and you can’t go wrong with free.
We get to see the engine cowling panels that can be opened, work done on the interior of the gear bays, and the flight deck with various options of instruments.
Speaking of the flight deck, we get to see a demonstration of the hydraulic system in action. Since it can’t be embedded, you can check it out at this link.

Last, but not least, we stay in the realm of freeware with FlyByWire’s A32NX Airbus A320neo. The stable version finally had vertical navigation added, which is definitely an important milestone for the project.
The aircraft also got the new version of the EDB tablet, cross bleed engine starts, air conditioning simulation and failures, and more improvements to the avionics.
