Today third-party developers released a relevant airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator and showcased a very promising feature of an upcoming add-on.

The airport release is Henri Coandă International Airport (LROP) serving Bucharest, the capital of Romania. It has been released on FlightSim.to by Barelli MSFS Addons, priced at €21.87

It’s worth mentioning that this is a completely different project from the rendition of the airport announced a few weeks ago by MLD Scenery. You can check out what it looks like in the trailer below.

Another very interesting piece of content we get to see today comes from BeyondATC. The developers of the upcoming ATC suite announced a while ago are also including a full-fledged AI traffic simulation that will work with its ATC communication.

What’s really interesting is that, instead of letting the simulator control the traffic by telling it to go from point A to point B, which isn’t very realistic, the developer is implementing a full simulation running externally, and giving MSFS detailed step-by-step instructions.

Not only this promises to have better taxi pathing and sequencing on the ground at complex airports, but also  the possibility of having the AI interact fully with the add-on’s ATC comms, which is extremely promising.

As a bonus, the developers mention that performance should also be better, which is not a small bonus if BeyondATC’s claims end up being accurate.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how well Beyond ATC will compare with existing traffic solutions, as this is definitely not a secondary feature.
