Martha Stewart Admits Cheating on Husband of 29 Years in Bombshell Trailer for Netflix's 'Togo'

Martha Stewart has admitted to cheating on her ex-husband Andrew Stewart during their marriage.

The 83-year-old homemaking expert revealed in a bombshell trailer for her that they weren't faithful during their 29-year union. The upcoming Netflix documentary Martha.

At one point in the clip, Martha – who was married to Stewart from 1961 until they divorced in 1990 – offers advice to married women who have been cheated on before a producer calls her out for cheating.

'Young ladies, listen to my advice, if you get married and your husband starts cheating on you, he's a piece of shit. Get out of that marriage,' said the television personality.

'Didn't you have an affair earlier?' The producer joked, to which Marta replied, 'Yeah, but I don't think Andy would have known about it.'

Martha started dating Andy – her only husband to date – when she was just 19 and he was 23, after they were set up on a blind date.

He was then a Yale Law student. He later moved into publishing and is currently publisher emeritus of Fieldstone Publishing, a nature publishing company.

The couple said 'I do' in 1961 and have been married for almost three decades.

They welcomed a child together in 1965, Alexis Stewart, now 59.

The couple eventually divorced in 1990.

After the divorce, Martha briefly dated Silence of the Lambs star Anthony Hopkins. She dated software architect Charles Simoni for 15 years from 1993 to 2008.

In 2023, Martha told E! News that she is alone.

Following their divorce, Andy married Martha's former assistant Robin Fairclough, who was 21 years his junior. They later divorced and he remarried to Shayla Nelson Stewart.

In 2022, Martha called her divorce 'terrible' in an interview with People.

'Divorce was a scary thing for me because we were the first in my family to divorce,' she shared.

Martha's mother, Martha Kostira, previously told PEOPLE that the divorce had 'hurt her badly', adding, 'I don't think she'll ever get over it.'

The upcoming documentary follows the lifestyle icon from her teenage years as a model to becoming America's first self-made female billionaire. Netflix press release.

The star spent five months in jail in 2004 after being found guilty of charges including conspiracy and obstruction of justice related to a stock sale.

'I was a trophy to these idiots. I was drawn into isolation, no food or water. Should have put those lawyers in a Cuisinart and changed it up.'

Martha described her successful return to work.

'A cookie-cutter house and a cookie-cutter life are not for me,' she said.

'I could have been a miserable, housewife, but I didn't let that happen to me. I'm so glad I didn't.'

In September, Stewart referred to the image as “lazy” at the 2024 Retail Influencer CEO Forum, according to The Daily Beast.

'I try not to talk about things I don't like in public. [as] That's not good business,' she said at the time, and later added, referring to the dock, 'I could be a little meaner about it.'

The star revealed that she felt it was 'very unfair' that so much of the film focused on her 'stupid investigation'.

Filmmaker R.J. Martha said she had a 'collaboration agreement' with Cutler and said, 'We're going to be collaborators – and then he did the final edit.'

The upcoming documentary – set for release on Netflix on October 30 – follows Martha from her teenage years to her becoming America's first self-made female billionaire.

He said he wanted changes to be made in the second half of the film, but Cutler 'wouldn't change anything'.

Stewart further explained that the second part of the documentary 'doesn't mention all my collaborations'.

'They don't even have a part in it – it's not fair in a story of my life, I don't think. That's what made me, me,' the star added.

The documentary is set to premiere on Netflix on October 30.
