Manchester City And Tottenham Hotspur A total of 171 head-to-head meetings have taken place across all competitions, with the Citizens holding the head-to-head record with 68 wins to Spurs' 66, while there have been 37 draws between the two teams.
However, Tottenham have fared slightly better in cup competitions, winning 10 times and drawing three of 21 encounters across the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Champions League, while in the Premier League era (since 1992–93), they have beaten Man City. Played in 28 out of 53 meetings, and also in eight draws.
One of the most memorable matches between these two clubs was the Champions League quarter-final clash in 2019, with Spurs edging past Man City on away goals following a 4-4 aggregate draw. Despite winning 4-3 in a thrilling match at the Etihad, the Citizens suffered VAR heartbreak in the second leg. Man City got their revenge two years later in the EFL Cup final Aymeric Laporte Scored eight minutes into the 1-0 win at Wembley.
Since 2004, 40 of the last 45 meetings between these two sides have taken place in the Premier League, and Spurs have enjoyed an impressive dominance at the start of this run, as they won 11 of 12 games between December 2004 and May 2010. 2-1 including seven hits.
However, Man City responded emphatically by winning 8 of their next 10 between August 2010 and May 2015 – scoring 27 goals in the process – including two 5-1 wins and a 6-0 home win.

Since September 2015, there has been little separating these two clubs, but Man City have won it with 10 wins compared to Spurs' eight in 22 meetings in all competitions, with the Citizens winning five of the last nine meetings.
Man City have not enjoyed any of their first five visits to the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, losing all five without scoring, but they have won the last two – a 1-0 FA Cup fourth-round victory in January 2024 followed four months later.
