Guardiola suffered four consecutive defeats for the first time in his coaching career. The Spaniard's Manchester City lost 2-1 in the Premier League at Brighton on Saturday in the absence of Manuel Akanji.

Real Madrid made a comeback in the Spanish league with a 4-0 home win over Osasuna after the Champions League champions suffered recent losses to Barcelona and Milan at their own stadium.

The success in the 13th round, thanks to Vinicius Junior's hat-trick and others, came at a high price. Rodrygo, Edel Militao and Lucas Vazquez were injured in the first half. The club announced that Ed Militao has suffered a torn cruciate ligament.

Strasbourg-Monaco 1:3

Only one of the three Swiss players played in Monaco's 1-3 away win over Strasbourg. Captain Denis Zakaria remains injured and goalkeeper Philip Cohen is still only No. 2. Blair Embolo was in the starting lineup but was substituted at half-time with the home side's score 1-0. After he was substituted, Monaco managed to turn the situation around.
