Man, 45, wanted for allegedly kidnapping co-worker in Scarborough

A 45-year-old man is wanted for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a co-worker in Scarborough last Saturday.

Toronto Police say officers responded to the area of Lawrence Ave. E. and Pharmacy Ave. at 2 a.m. after a male employee was asked to accompany a manager to pick up products.

They allegedly drove to the area of Ellesmere Rd. and Victoria Park Ave. where they picked up three other males.

“The victim was driven around, assaulted and eventually dropped off,” Const. Victor Kwong alleged Thursday in a news release. “The man was threatened and a demand was made for money.”

Kwong said the alleged victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Investigators have since identified a suspect and are appealing to the public for help tracking him down.

Tan Hoa Tang, of Toronto, is wanted for conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, robbery, uttering threats, and extortion.

During the investigation, Daelen Livingston Dixon, 27, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

The investigation is ongoing.
