Madden 24 and NBA 2K24 are two of the most prominent sports video games out there. Alongside EA Sports FC 24, these two are extremely popular, both with their devoted communities who often find themselves unhappy with the product. That’s the subject of today’s discussion, which has players talking over which game is better from a development side.
Madden 24 and NBA 2K24 players discuss which game is better
The Venn diagram of players who play Madden 24 or NBA 2K24 is almost a circle. It’s not, but there’s certainly a lot of crossover there and with FC 24 in the sports gaming community. In that community, complaints come fast and furious, so one Madden Redditor set out to determine which game was better.
u/No_Paper_8794 posted to Reddit sharing a discussion they had with a 2K player. They said, “I used to love Madden, and can agree that 2k is a money grabber, but the NBA2k franchise mode is WAYYYY more in depth and less buggy than the current Madden games. Right?”
That question alone got the community thinking. Both games have their downsides, but which one has it worse? u/FiftyIsBack believes it’s no question, “2K clearly cares more about their NBA games and you can see it. The presentation for regular exhibition matches destroy the presentation you get in Madden.”
Other commenters said they picked up NBA 2K24 and that the franchise mode in that game is far superior to the one present in EA Sports’ game. For what it’s worth, 2K does have Eras Mode in which players can visit bygone eras of the sport and play through that time period. Madden doesn’t have anything but the present and future.
u/WCSakaCB, upon learning this information, was upset that EA Sports didn’t do something similar for their game, “God d**n it I hate EA so much for not doing this with Madden.” Another commenter mentioned that EA Sports does include older players from older eras, but they’re exclusive to Madden Ultimate Team and often cost money or a ton of playtime.
u/redbeardmax settled the debate once and for all by succinctly saying, “I’ll never buy Madden again. I’m so glad I decided to try a basketball game. It’s fantastic.” u/EddieManixx added, “EA is the worst company on Earth. F**k the NFL for giving those goblins a monopoly.”
As much as NBA 2K24 players feel like their game is not great, apparently it could be worse. It could be as bad as Madden 24, at least according to the community.
