Hexworks and CI Games have announced the Lords of the Fallen roadmap for the remainder of 2023.
The Soulslike, which topped one million sales just a few days after its release last month, will receive lots of new content throughout the rest of the year, including new questlines, gear, and balance adjustments.
According to Hexworks, “two further events” are coming before the New Year, both of which will bring “fresh content” to Lords of the Fallen.
Upcoming additions to Lords of the Fallen include new Umbral and Rhogar armor sets and associated questlines, as well as new Grievous Strikes, new spells, and inventory expansions.
You can also look forward to new secret boss weapon abilities, a new Radiant armor set and questline, and the ability to rebind gamepad inputs, plus more.
This is all in addition to “a regular weekly cadence of updates” that will bring balance adjustments, fixes, and tweaks, all of which should keep your Lords of the Fallen experience feeling smooth.
In a press release accompanying the roadmap announcement, Hexworks also says “further support” is planned for Lords of the Fallen, with more info “to be announced at a future date”.
Could there be some substantial Lords of the Fallen DLC on the way? The popularity of the Soulslike, plus Hexworks’ long-term commitment to the game, suggest this might well be the case.
Fellow Soulslike Lies of P is getting DLC soon, after all, so it would be a shame if Lords of the Fallen was left in the lurch in this regard.
Lords of the Fallen is the second game to bear that name after 2014’s ill-fated Lords of the Fallen, which was developed by Deck13.
The new game is a quasi-reboot; it features some of the same names and concepts as its predecessor, but for the most part, it’s a clean break.
You are a Dark Crusader, a warrior tasked with putting a stop to the dark god Adyr’s imminent return. To do so, you must travel the land of Mournstead and purify several beacons, many of which are guarded by monstrous boss enemies.
