Bandai Namco and developer Supermassive Games have announced that horror platformer sequel Little Nightmares 3 has been delayed beyond 2024.
In a message on X (formerly known as Twitter), the two studios say that Little Nightmares 3 will now launch at some point in 2025, although a more specific release window hasn’t been revealed.
The reason for the delay is the usual story; more time is needed to give the game the “care and love it deserves”, and since “quality is a top priority” for Bandai Namco and Supermassive, the release window has been moved.
All is not lost, though; Bandai Namco and Supermassive say that they’ll share more information about Little Nightmares 3 “later this summer”, so we may well get a new release window – or, at the very least, a new trailer – soon.
If you’re not familiar with Little Nightmares 3, it is, believe it or not, the third mainline game in the Little Nightmares series of cinematic platformer-style horror adventures.
Announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live last year, Little Nightmares 3 will be the first game in the series not to be developed by Swedish studio Tarsier, which was purchased by Embracer Group in 2019.
The game will place an emphasis on co-operative gameplay; you’ll either be able to tackle it with a friend in co-op or solo with an AI partner.
Lost in a place known only as the Nowhere, main characters Low and Alone will need to use all of the tools at their disposal if they’re to outwit the horrors that await them within the disturbing Spiral.
Little Nightmares 3 is currently set to launch sometime in 2025 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. We’ll bring you more on this spooky-looking horror platformer, as well as all other things Bandai Namco, as soon as we get it.
