Today Sega released a new gallery of screenshots and plenty of details about the upcoming JRPG Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, known in Japan simply as Ryu Ga Gotoku 8.
We take a look at various locations of the main setting of the game, Honolulu, starting with Haloa Beach, where you can unwind on the beach and swim with your party members.
Next is Anaconda, where the Anaconda Shopping Center is located. It’s the largest shopping complex in Hawaii, offering goods for sales and entertainment, including arcade games and dining.
Waikīkī is also perfect for shopping, including the Worldwide Market Village, with plenty of souvenir shops and major brand retailers.
Chinatown is full of food stalls and produce markets during the day, while it’s dominated by the Nirvana Hotel at night. Little Japan has a sushi restaurant favored by the locals and a shrine where a mysterious mascot character is rumored to be found.
District Five is a seedy place that has been taken over by the local mafia. It’s dangerous and off-limits to tourists.
More locations include Shipper’s Wharf, the Cultural District, and the Downtown area, while our heroes can rest at Kazuma Kiryu’s favorite bar, Revolver, located in Little Japan.
At Revolver you can enjoy karaoke and relax with friends. You can also hand ingredients you have collected to the owner to get them cooked into meals. You can even meet Kei, the bar’s popular poster girl, played by YouTuber and Vtuber Kson following her win at the dedicated audition.
We also get to see the activities you can enjoy in Honolulu, including traveling around with the OKA Surfer, which is basically a customizable Segway. It won’t work if you run out of battery, but you can recharge it at dedicated charging spots in town.
While traveling on the Trolley bus you can enjoy a minigame that prompts you to snap and collect pictures of suspicious men.
While exploring on foot you can find plenty of items as well, including recovery items, weapon materials, and valuable weapons. Some can be found by shaking palm trees or digging into piles of sand.
Garbage containers can also be scoured for rare weapon enhancements, while magazines can be found in newspaper boxes. There are also lockers, which you can open if you find the keys, providing rare buff items and powerful equipment.
By swimming in the sea you can dive to recover even more items, while you can rent a fishing rod to capture fish and seaweed, including high-quality ingredients.
Lastly, as hinted above, you can meet Kamulop at the local shrine. By giving him the Omikuji fortune slips that you can find in the streets of Hawaii, you receive points that can be spent to purchase weapons and amulets. The amount of points you get depends on how good the fortune is.
You can find all the screenshots in the gallery below.
