Re: Joly’s public missteps embarrassing, inexcusable, column, Dr. David Knight Legg, Aug. 18

Wow, so Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly was fooled not once, but twice, by Hamas propaganda (in regard to things she posted on social media in the past year). It reminds me of the old saying, “Fool me once, shame on you,” etc., but in this case an MP with her cabinet position really shouldn’t be fooled at all by terrorist BS.

After twice embarrassing our Israeli allies, she should be forced to step down, but I suspect she won’t, as there appears to be zero accountability in our prime minister’s government.

SHOWING ITS TRUE COLOURS

I see the woke Capital Pride is showing its true colours once again. First it discriminates against police officers and now the Jewish community. Which group of people will it be next year?

I’ve never supported Palestinian terrorists, and how dare Capital Pride insinuate that every gay person does? Capital Pride is now doing the exact thing that gays and lesbians have been fighting against for more than 50 years (engaging in discrimination and hatred).

The Middle Eastern war is not Canada’s war!

PRESIDENTIAL NATURE

I was reading a magazine that lists how former presidents of the United States rate, from the best to the worst. A quote from Dwight Eisenhower really caught my eye. He said, “Any man who wants to be president is either an egomaniac or crazy.”

I keep wondering which category Donald Trump would fit into, and whether this quote would also fit how Justin Trudeau feels.

OFF THE SOCIAL SCHEDULE

Re: Where’s Waldo? Brian Lilley column, Aug. 17

The explanation for the missing and late itinerary items may be as simple as this: Justin Trudeau is so unpopular that he is receiving very few invitations to public events, to meet with concerned citizen groups or attend openings, etc. Photo ops this summer are definitely way down from last summer.
