Re: LCBO shoplifting spearheads increased calls for Ottawa police responses, online, Feb. 23
Article content
There has been an epidemic of shoplifting in LCBO stores and it is increasing in leaps and bounds. There has been a huge rise in police calls just for that reason alone.
So how do we tackle the problem? Some say extra security, but that has been tried, and really it has not helped that much.
What about “Booze to the Future,” similar to Michael J. Fox’s first big screen hit? In the 1950s and 1960s, everyone filled out a form and handed it to the clerk at the front. Someone in turn would get the bottle(s) and bring it/them to the cash register.
It would not eliminate all the thefts, but a good 95 per cent. Simple and most effective.

THE SINGH PRICE TAG
Re: NDP says it has reached deal with Liberals on pharmacare legislation, online, Feb. 23
So to secure Jagmeet Singh’s continuing support to keep Justin Trudeau in power, Canadians are paying $5 billion a year for a dental plan that is fraught with problems. Now, according to the PBO’s estimate, they will be paying $13 billion a year for a pharmacare plan that undoubtedly will also have serious problems.
It’s mind-boggling that Singh, who got a pathetic 17 per cent of the popular vote and only 25 seats, has been able to get his bucket wish list filled at a cost of $18 billion annually. Singh and Trudeau, the two elitists, are well on their way to bankrupting Canada with their socialist-styled programs.

MASSES DON’T MATTER
Re: NDP says it has reached deal with Liberals on pharmacare legislation, online, Feb. 23
Canadians shouldn’t be jumping for joy, nor should the NDP be patting itself on the back just yet. There was a deadline looming, and in order to keep the support of the NDP, the Liberals had to come up with a plan. Jagmeet Singh wants his pension so bad he can taste it and Justin Trudeau wants his power so bad he would do anything and everything to keep it. When you have two desperate people willing to do what it takes to get what they want, the masses don’t matter.
If Jagmeet truly cared about Canadians, he would have pulled the plug on this government long ago.
Pierre Poilievre as our prime minister can’t come soon enough, but he has a daunting task ahead of him, so Canadians need to give him the time and the leeway to get the job done … This country depends on it.
