Re: LILLEY: Trudeau needs to explain funding UNRWA to Canadian victims, online, March 9

I believe that Canada should continue funding UNRWA as long as there is no reliable alternative in getting aid to Gazan civilians. If there is some other organization that can deliver the equivalent amount of aid to Gazan civilians, then our aid should be diverted to it.

If, for example, allied countries are able to deliver an equivalent amount of aid via portable docks, some or all of the money normally provided to UNRWA should be diverted to it.

Once the current crisis is over, we may wish to terminate our aid to UNRWA, but Palestinian civilians should not be made to suffer because of the corruption or violence of some UNRWA employees.

CAN’T BELIEVE IT

Re: Keep vile killers like Bernardo in maximum-security prisons, March 8

I can’t believe that these sub-human losers are getting an easier ride in prison due to our overly woke and inept Liberal government. As sickening and angering as it is to me, I can only imagine what it must be like for the family and friends of these killers’ victims.

Just yet another reason why our “esteemed” prime minister and his fellow incompetents need to go yesterday.

SPRINGING AHEAD

Is anyone in charge? Let’s make a decision for one time or the other: standard time or daylight saving time. If it takes a national referendum to decide, perhaps on our tax returns or during the next national election, let’s get ‘er done, please.

TRUE STATESMAN

The passing of former prime minister Brian Mulroney gave me pause to think where he would stand in relation to other prime ministers past and present. In my estimation, we have had only three prime ministers who showed any semblance of true leadership: Mulroney, Jean Chrétien and Lester Pearson. The Trudeaus were dilettantes; no more, no less.

Of the three, Mulroney is or should be considered a true statesman. Do you need proof? I have two words: Mandela and environment. Enough said.
