Last Train Home, the upcoming historical strategy game from Ashborne Games and publisher THQ Nordic, has released another trailer featuring both cinematics and gameplay. This includes some of the obstacles players will face, set against a “Siberian winter”.
Last Train Home doesn’t have an exact release date, but it’s still expected to release sometime this year. It will be available on PC. You can watch today’s Siberian Journey trailer on the THQ Nordic YouTube channel:
Last Train Home made quite the impression at THQ Nordic’s Digital Showcase 2023, with an extensive breakdown of all the central mechanics. However, the devs still haven’t announced a release date. It’s a bit surprising, as the intended year of release is winding down, and the game may very well end up delayed. There aren’t other ports to consider, either.
Still, Last Train Home continues to prove that it would be worth the wait, with each new trailer. Today’s trailer introduces some of the other problems players could encounter, from unique illnesses to stress.
It’s also more balanced with the live-action footage, which has consistently added a sense of humanity and respect to the game. It will be important for Last Train Home to emphasize dignity in this overlooked story inspired by real history, which was fortunately supported by the story trailer from August.
So, although the new trailer probably doesn’t reveal too much more for anticipating fans, it does raise awareness. While it is an RTS game about war, it has a niche, survival point of view. It would be disappointing if fans of the genre dismissed Last Train Home because they didn’t realize just how fresh and important the premise is. There will certainly be more trailers ahead of launch.
