Gamescom 2024 is fast approaching, and one of mobile gaming’s biggest names, KRAFTON, has let slip its plans for this year. And by let slip, I mean they have created a whole website page and a trailer detailing the three games they will be showcasing from August 21st to August 25th.
KRAFTON has also announced the theme of their booth, which is Scale-up the Creative. This new strategy means they want to discover new fun games and effectively expand into the global market. Surely that is the goal for every developer, but putting the rhetoric aside, let’s see what they are showing off in Cologne.
Kicking off is that staple of KRAFTON, PUBG: Battlegrounds. It has been seven years since this titan of gaming helped pioneer the battle royale genre, and it is still going strong. The original PC version continues to dominate Steam by maintaining Platinum rating in multiple categories, and of course, the mobile version is carrying on that legacy on the move.
Our second title is perhaps the most exciting; Dark and Darker Mobile. This upcoming extraction RPG places you in a deep dungeon where you must battle monsters and other players to grab as much loot as you can and get out alive. There is a global test set for early August in key markets like Korea, the United States, and Japan, and you can get this sneak peek at Gamescom.
The last title on offer is KRAFTONs attempt at a Sims killer; inZOI. In this life simulator, you take the role of a god, able to create anything you like, making a world full of characters who all go able their day with free will. They will make friends, live life, and create a realistic universe. There is no confirmation of a mobile release, however, never say never with KRAFTON.
