Legendary Entertainment and Polish game developer 7Levels have announced Kong: Survivor Instinct, a new King Kong franchise game.
The new game takes place after the Godzilla vs. Kong film, where a father must find his daughter and must contend while giants like King Kong and Abaddon from Godzilla: King of the Monsters duke it out on the ruins of a city. In addition, a mercenary group called the Hyenas have their own agenda against the player and the Titan monsters.
Kong: Survivor Instinct is launching sometime in Q3 2024 for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.
“The opportunity to work on the hugely popular Monsterverse IP has been an exciting and formative experience for all of us at 7Levels,” co-founder Paweł Biela said in a press release. “Not only did we have a chance to show some of the fan-favorite Titans from a unique perspective, but we also found committed and supportive partners in the exceptional people at Legendary. Their deep understanding of the Monsterverse lore and what makes it so captivating to so many people around the world allowed us to recapture that essence and recreate it in our game.”
Sam Rappaport, vice president for Interactive for Legendary added, “Experiencing the narrative through the eyes of a civilian, unaffiliated with any agencies, adds a layer of realism and emotional depth that we hope will resonate with our fans.”
