Konami currently has three Silent Hill games in production that we know of in an official capacity, with Silent Hill f, Silent Hill: Townfall, and a remake of Silent Hill 2, though interestingly enough, it seems the latter might not be the only remake in the series that’s in development.
In its recently published fiscal report, the company touched on the major upcoming releases it currently has in production, mentioning the likes of the aforementioned Silent Hill titles and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. While doing so, it also stated that it’s working on “remakes” in the Silent Hill series.
“As for ongoing efforts, we are working diligently on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which faithfully recreates the story, characters, and game design of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, one of the most beloved entries in the Metal Gear series, and updates its graphical style to modern graphics for the current generation, as well as remakes and completely new entries in the Silent Hill series, which gained popularity as a psychological horror game,” the company wrote.
Currently, of course, Silent Hill 2 is the only Silent Hill remake that’s confirmed to be in development, with Polish studio Bloober Team (The Medium, Layers of Fear) in charge of the project. In an interview with GamingBolt earlier this year, when asked if the studio could work on additional remake projects in the franchise, Silent Hill 2 remake’s producer Maciej Głomb said, “You should never say never.” Read more on that through here.
Previous reports have also claimed that there are currently at least three Silent Hill games in development that haven’t been officially announced.
