Developer Parabole and publisher Ravenscourt have officially announced that their upcoming first-person narrative-adventure title, Kona II: Brume, is scheduled to launch on October 18, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The publisher also shared a brand-new trailer, offering a sneak peek at the chilling journey through the mysterious Canadian wilderness.
Kona II: Brume is the much-awaited sequel to the celebrated 2017 Kona. This newest entry builds upon the success of the original title, taking fans back into the world of Detective Carl Faubert as he faces new challenges, eerie mysteries, and the unforgiving winter landscape.
As with the original, the events of Kona II: Brume take place in 1970 Northern Québec. The narrative unfolds as the strange Brume mist envelops the mining village in a distorted reality. As players take on the role of Detective Carl Faubert, they will embark on a journey through the snow-covered wilderness to uncover the mysteries haunting the region while battling for their own survival.
Players will navigate the vast fictional land of Manastan in Northern Canada. Along the way, they will encounter stranded victims and survivors of a devastating avalanche and fight their way through the village. Players must be prepared to survive against all odds, all while searching for clues in wooden shacks, or by visiting nearby locations through their trusty dog sled and exploring surrounding lakes.
As players gather clues, they must also make careful findings. They can consult Carl Faulbert’s Journal and put their detective skills to the test, ultimately solving the mystery behind the Brume.
Expectations are high for Kona II: Brume as its predecessor has left a notable impression on fans of survival exploration and investigation games. Judging based on the most recent trailer, the sequel holds significant potential to surpass the experience delivered by the original. In any case, it all depends on how well this sequel will be received by fans upon release.
Kona II: Brume is now available to wishlist on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store.
