Keri Russell was honest about her romance with Matthew Rhys while filming The Americans.
Cast as married KGB spies on the FX series that began in 2013, their on-screen chemistry quickly blossomed into a real-life romance that captivated viewers throughout the show's five-year run.
“I fell in love with Matthew,” the Golden Globe winner revealed to Variety on Wednesday. “We were passionate and in love, filming spy footage at night in costumes and wigs.”
She added: “I mean, it's a really fun and glamorous time.” How fun, my goodness.
More than a decade later, the couple has made their home in Brooklyn with their eight-year-old son Sam and are deeply in love.

Keri shares a son, River, and a daughter, Willa Lou, with her ex-husband Shane Deary. The couple separated in 2013 after seven years of marriage.
In May, Matthew opened up about experiencing a classic Hollywood romance.
During an interview with People, he admitted that he finds himself doing “everything his producers tell him not to do.”
“In our adulthood, we're like, 'Oh, we've done that.' We've figured it out. We'll never go down that cliché path,” she recalls of the early stages of their romance, which they kept secret for a year.
In the end, they decided that it was time to reveal their relationship with the program team, since it was no longer possible to hide it.
“So when we told our producers, 'Oh, we have to say something,' they said, 'Oh, don't say you're together.' We said, 'Actually, we're going to have a baby.' And they said, 'God.' mine', because we've kept it a secret for so long.
However, it wasn't exactly love at first sight for Keri and Matthew.
During a 2017 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Rice recalled their first meeting in 2002, when Rice asked Russell for her number.

“I got really drunk and asked for his number,” Rice recalled.
Their first meeting took place in a parking lot after a kickball game, where they chatted and Russell asked Rhys to help him open his beer. Rice later left her a drunk voicemail, but she never called back.
Nearly a decade later, Russell doesn't think much about their brief encounter while filming The Americans.
He recalled Rhys saying: “At lunch, you said, 'You know, we've met before,' and I said, 'No, we haven't met.'” “Yeah, at a kickball party 10 years ago,” you said. As soon as you say, 'Of course I remember!' I went to that.
