The reason why she was removed
In an interview with The Times UK (via The Hollywood Reporter ), Keira Knightley explained why she no longer wants to play a role in Pirates of the Caribbean. The 39-year-old said the Disney film series was “the reason I was publicly disparaged”. So there is no chance that she will sign up for another film series.

She knows Pirates of the Caribbean made her famous, but the series' popularity is also responsible for how she's treated in public. “It’s funny when you have something that makes you powerful and destroys you at the same time,” she points out.
