Late rapper Juice WRLD could be coming to Fortnite. There had been speculations in the past that Fortnite was releasing a Juice WRLD skin when his hit song, “Lucid Dreams,” was used in the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5 trailer last November.
Juice WRLD passed away at just the age of 21 years old after an accidental overdose in 2019. The gaming community mourned Juice WRLD’s death as he was known for befriending and playing with various members of the esports scene. They expressed that he was gone too soon and still had a bright future ahead of him.
Fortnite Releases New Update
The latest Fortnite update is rolling out to players, bringing various adjustments to the weapons within Epic’s popular battle royale title.
Four years after his passing, Juice WRLD might finally get his first video game appearance thanks to Fortnite. Peter Jideonwo, who was Juice WRLD’s manager, teased in a recent Instagram Live stream that the collaboration would be “coming soon.” He didn’t divulge any further information on what the Fortnite x Juice WRLD collaboration might be.
A clip of Jideonwo’s stream eventually made rounds on social media, where many Fortnite and Juice WRLD fans expressed their excitement about the collab. Many believe that Juice WRLD will be the featured artist for the annual Fortnite Festival coming in February. Some also think that the rapper’s songs will be added to Fortnite‘s Jam Tracks, which includes popular tracks like Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” and The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside.”
It’s still likely that Fortnite will have a Juice WRLD skin and matching cosmetics as it previously released skins for musicians like Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak. But regardless of if Fortnite will release a Juice WRLD skin bundle or not, the current plans for the collaboration are still a great way to pay tribute to the talented rapper and avid supporter of the gaming scene. Players will just have to keep an eye out over the next couple of months to see what’s in store for this year’s Fortnite Festival.
Aside from Fortnite, other popular games have also collaborated with musicians and other prominent names to create unique skins. Earlier this year, Call of Duty added Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj skins to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. In 2021, PUBG also made waves with its massive Blackpink collaboration, which included skins and an in-game concert. This will likely be an ongoing trend in gaming as more companies work with celebrities and influencers to create unique content that will entice more players to support their titles.
