Today Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios announced the release date of the next DLC character for Mortal Kombat 1, Quan Chi, alongside much-awaited info on Peacemaker.
First of all, Quan Chi will be released on December 14 in early access for those who purchased the Kombat Pack. Everyone else will be able to purchase him separately on December 21.
We also get a trailer showing him in action with the next Kameo character who will be launched at the same time, Khameleon. Yes. It’s a lot of Ks.
The trailer also includes a Kameo (yes, I had to do it) of the following DLC character, DC Comics’ Peacemaker from The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker series.
He will come in February 2024 and we get the confirmation in the accompanying press release that he will have the likeness and voice of wrestling superstar John Cena.
You can watch the video below and see if you’re enticed into grabbing Quan Chi when he releases, if you haven’t gotten the Kombat Pack already.
The confirmation of the participation of John Cena is quite reassuring for the fans after we learned that The Boys star Antony Starr would not reprise his role in Mortal Kombat 1.
The Kombat Pack 1 includes 6 DLC characters to be delivered in a staggered calendar. Announced months before the game was released, it includes Omni Man, Homelander, Peacemaker, and three returning Mortal Kombat characters, Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda Takahashi.
Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Recently, we heard directly from the top of Warner Bros. that it has sold nearly 3 million copies.
