SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers from the first five episodes Agata all the way.
Joe Locke's mysterious gothic “Teen” in Agata all the way marks a significant change in character from his Heart catcher the role of Charlie Spring.
The young British actor made his own Admire his debut in the Cinematic Universe alongside, among others, Agata all the way when the series premiered in two episodes on September 18. Showrunner Jac Shaeffer teased: A fun build-up to discovering the true identity of Locke's character.
The madness of the theories below overwhelmingly point to a certain character from Marvel Comics. It turns out they were right. Joe Locke will play Billy Kaplan, also known as Wiccan, son of the Scarlet Witch.
Read on to find out all the Easter eggs that led to the reveal of Teen's identity and more clues about what he might want with Agatha and Witches Road.
Episodes 1 and 2 – “Search for the Way” & “The Circle Sewn with Fate, Unlock Your Hidden Gate”
After the first two episodes, it becomes clear that Teen won't be able to reveal any details about who he is. When Agatha (Hahn) asks Teen his name in episode 2, he answers, but a seal in the shape of a cursive capital “M” covers his mouth as he says the word. The most popular theory is that Teen is Wanda's Son Billy Kaplanak Wiccan, and the “M” may stand for “Maximoff”.
His voice also seems muffled as Agatha sits in the car as she asks him where he's from. He can hear the radio clearly, but his voice cuts out completely. Also on this car trip, Teen's boyfriend (who could be Teddy Altman from the comics) calls him because “he's worried.” Billy is one of the few openly gay male Marvel heroes.

It should be noted that Teen is the one who breaks Agatha out of the curse Wanda left in Westview, trapping the witch in her false role as nosy neighbor Agnes as she sneaks into the dream world Wanda has built. She's an amateur witch and arrived shortly after Rio Vidal's grand entrance from Aubrey Plaza, which makes it a bit unclear what magic he or she was in the interrogation room. The photos of the dead woman's body that Agnes saw in episode 1 turned into flowers and an image appeared on the mirror wall.
Episode 3 – “Over Many Miles/Tricks and Trials”
Only in the third episode does Agatha's chaotic coven notice that “someone has placed a seal on the boy.” The seal, or magic seal, takes the form of a capital letter. M. Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone) takes notice and for the first time Teen realizes that he too is under a spell.
Episode 5 – “Darkest Hour, Awaken Your Power”
His identity is revealed in the final moments of episode 5 when his powers take over after the ordeal that leaves Alice dead.
After becoming furious at Agatha's taunts, Teen's blue magic begins to crackle in his fingers and he throws Jen and Lilia at Agatha, possessing them to throw her off Witches Road. He then throws them both off the Path and all three of them are sucked into the ground. Back to Teen, who now wears a blue crown that looks just like his mother.
Any theories that Teen may be Agatha's son, Nicholas Scratch, are dispelled when he can fully say the name without the seal covering his mouth. Rio also told Agatha that he is not her son in episode 4.
However, it is still unknown what he is doing on the Witches' Trail or why he turned to Agatha for help. It's not entirely clear yet whether he's intentionally trying to hurt Agatha, Jen, and Lilia by getting them out of the way. Billy's powers are very similar to his mother's, so it makes sense that he would get a little lost in them in the heat of the moment, much like Wanda.
Harbinger:
An important connection that many viewers noticed before the series premiere is a specific outfit in which Locke is wearing one of the trailers for Do Agata all the way.
A shot of Locke wearing clothes very similar to those worn by young William “Billy” Maximoff WandaVision. The character poster below also shows the costume. It turns out this shot is from episode 5, taken during the trial, shortly before his Wiccan reveal.
In the comics, Billy has powers very similar to those of his mother Wanda – chaos magic, telepathy and other electrical powers, which viewers saw in the final episodes of the series. WandaVision.
Who is Mephisto?
Another theory is that the seal belongs to Mephisto, which could either solidify the theory that Teen is Billy, or could set the stage for Teen as the son of the red demon. In the comics, Wanda created her twins from two lost souls that Mephisto “lent” to her.
Mephisto is a master manipulator and the big bad of the comics. He returned to collect the boys' souls when Wanda gave them back, but the souls were so influenced by Wanda that they defeated the demon and were reborn elsewhere. Billy became the son of Jeff and Rebecca Kaplan in New York, later changing his name to Wiccan after briefly assuming the title of Asgardian. Wiccan became a young avenger along with Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang.
In the third episode, Jenn (Sasheer Zamata) drops the name Mephisto when the coven visits a luxury beach house for their first trial, which turns out to be for her – a potions witch. This is not about Teen's identity, but rather about Agatha's son, who – Jenn tells Teen – was sold by Agatha for the book of the damned (The Darkhold). This comes after Jenn warns Teen to be careful with Agatha due to rumors that she traded her own child for a dark stronghold, which was mentioned in the previous episode with the words “another child sacrifice?” in reference to Teena.

Agatha Harkness's son, Nicholas Scratch, rose to become a powerful sorcerer in the comics and actually became an agent of Mephisto after he was banished to Hell, where he agreed to serve the red demon.
“They say no one really knows what happened to him,” Jennifer says. “They say he may be dead. Others say he may be a demon or an agent of Mephisto. But hey, that's what happens when your mom is Agatha Harkness. I doubt she would even recognize her own son if he showed up at your door.
Later, while connecting with Alice (Ali Ahn), Teen confesses, “A lot happened to me too when I was 13,” which could refer to several things depending on who he really is.

In episode 2, “Black Heart” being on Agatha's list of witches needed to form the coven prompted her to ask Mrs. Hart, aka Sharon Davis (Debra Jo Rupp), who joined as the missing green witch, to perform the necessary earthbending. However, the clue also refers to Rio Vidal's self-proclaimed “black heart”, which beats for Agatha.
Well, interestingly enough, Blackheart is a character from Marvel Comics. He is actually Mephisto's son. From the way Rio Vidal described her heart, some believe she could represent Mephisto's gender-switched child with a possible connection to Teen, as she appeared in Westview around the time Teen was looking for Wanda. If Rio is Blackheart, it makes sense that he might come looking for Wanda's son.

However, Teen himself could also be Blackheart. While he is endearing, it is unknown whether Teen has an ulterior motive for asking Agatha for guidance in walking the Witch Trail.
All indications are that Mephisto is probably on his way, as in the same trailer spotted above, where we spot a Billy Teen-esque outfit, a suspicious fiery figure that looks very similar to the demon that appears at the end.
Now that episode 4 has arrived, those who watched will know that this creature was not Mephisto, but rather a manifestation of a generational curse placed on Alice and her mother Lorna Wu. However, by the end of the show's fourth episode, more clues emerged as to Teen's true identity. Agatha confessed that she wouldn't know if she had placed the seal on him, as it would have affected her even if she had been the one to cast him.
Rio Vidal, who joined the coven as a replacement green witch in episode 4, also told Agatha that the Teenager was not “hers”.
Baron Mordo
Mordo is also considered due to his status as the Sorcerer Supreme in One Universe, as seen in Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness (2022). In the film where Wanda is the villain, Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) as the Sorcerer Supreme in one of the many multi-dimensional dimensions, has trapped Doctor Strange and America Chavez in the Illuminati headquarters. Wanda used the dark fortress to dream-enter her self in this universe and killed four Illuminati – Captain Carter (Haley Atwell), Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), Reed Richards (John Krasinski), and Professor Patrick Stewart) – leaving only Mordo alive.
Mordo is the least likely of the seal caster theories, as Teen's mystery-shrouded identity must give way to a character introduction, whether it be his future incarnation as the Young Avenger, Mephisto, or even bringing Wanda back. Mordo's relationship with Wanda from their previous encounter may motivate him to want to hide Billy and Tommy from her if she is somehow still alive and looking for them.
There is a deleted scene from The multiverse of madness where Wanda kills Mordo, so the fact that they decided to skip that and keep him alive is an interesting clue.
