James Blunt has vowed to legally change his name to 'Blunty McBluntface' if his new album tops the charts.
He is re-releasing his 2004 album Back to Bedlam and has previously promised to change his name to 'what the public likes' if the music reaches its peak.
A sketch video posted on his social media on Sunday revealed what the public chose.
The singer, 50, released Back to Bedlam two decades ago and the record featured big hits like You're Beautiful, High, Wiseman and Goodbye My Lover.
The album topped the UK Albums Chart for weeks and is now certified 10x platinum.
James Blunt has vowed to legally change his name to 'Blunty McBluntface' if his new album tops the charts.
He is re-releasing his 2004 album Back to Bedlam and has previously promised to change his name 'as the public wants' if the music takes off.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Hampshire star is reissuing the album and going on tour.
The sketch was revealed on video showing him trying to enter the Warner Music Group building, only to be stopped by the front desk because they didn't accept his name as 'James Blunt'.
He tries to use some of the top names like 'Jimmy Spliff,' 'Blames Jund,' 'Divock Origi,' 'James Cuckling Fund,' and 'Itsy Bitsy Tiny Weeny Pop Star Four Chord Song Machine.' But they don't work.
His final guess was 'Blunty McBlundface' and he was finally granted access.
He then mutters, 'People have no imagination', before the desk receptionist replies, 'People have talked.'
In a video posted on his Instagram, the singer previously announced: 'My name is James Blunt and you have the power to make my life perfect.
'I know you've heard the rumours, and they're true, I'm releasing my debut album Back to Bedlam on October 11th. Something that has kept me rich for the last 20 years.
'So, as a way of giving back to you, my dear public, if Back to Bedlam tops the charts again, I will legally change my name. What would I change it to? Well, it's totally up to you.
'I've been called many things in my life, 'the most hated man in pop,' 'annoying,' 'James Beege,' and I let people decide.'
He later added: 'But if it doesn't go to the top, I'm not changing my name, it's safe to say the most important democratic moment of the year.
James reiterated the same promise during an appearance on Radio X's Chris Moyles show on Monday.
He said: 'I have signed up to change my name to whatever the public want – they can change my name.
'It's a real thing. I swear on my life and the life of one of my fans – Brian from Glasgow – that I'll change my name if it goes to number one.'
The singer continued: 'Yes. I swear on Brian's life and mine. Whatever the public wants – and surely the public is going to be kind, they're not going to go for anything that rhymes with Blunt, are they?

'But you know, as long as it's not, you know, Plenty McBluntface.'
James explained to the radio host that it was a way to encourage fans to buy the new album.
He revealed that High was the first chart-topper following the success of Wiseman and You're Beautiful.
'Hi first single,' said James. 'So we did High Out and it got quite a bit of radio visibility at that stage across Radio X – it's my natural home!'
He added: 'Then we got Wisemen out and the album went into the top 20 and then at that point in 2005 came the killer, You're Beautiful and the rest is horrible, horrible history!
The 20th anniversary reissue will be released on October 11 and will include a number of previously unreleased tracks including Standing All Alone, Close Your Eyes, Butterfly and B-side track Sugar-Coated.
