Jackie 'O' Henderson reveals the real reason she married ex-husband Lee after co-host Kyle Sandilands claimed it was his love of 'models'

Jackie 'O' Henderson has revealed why her marriage to ex-husband Lee Henderson fell apart.

The couple split in 2018 and have a daughter, Kitty, 13.

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie Show, the mother-of-one hinted that the lack of spontaneous romance in their relationship was the catalyst for the split.

'In a marriage, when you have a child, have it every now and then,' she told co-host Kyle Sandilands.

Kyle suggested that the marriage might have been saved if she had spent more time preparing dinner for her husband.

“It might have been a different result if you had kept it on Tuesday night,” he said. 'Resole Wednesday?'

Jackie replied: 'I'm not saying that's the only thing that saves, I'm saying that if you do something nice for your partner it's appreciated.

'Don't be complacent.'

Kyle later proposed his own theory about the split, arguing that it was due to Lee's interest in 'models'.

I'm guessing he put stickers on a WWII balsa wood plane that was ruined when you went in and saw it. “Is this my life?” You thought that.

'It never happened,' protested Jackie. 'He never built an airplane.'

Then Kyle corrected himself: 'Sorry, the Star Wars thing or whatever it is.'

'I like Lee, and I don't blame Lee for dabbling in models. I asked him to make a couple of models. He must have misunderstood me, I told him Victoria's Secret,' he joked.

Jackie also gave an insight into the current state of her relationship with Lee, six years after their split.

She confirmed that she is on good terms with her ex-husband, 50.

“I still like him,” Jackie said.

'As a person, I get on well with him. We are fine. Lee and I have no bad blood.'

After Kyle replied: 'You've never spoken, the lines of communication between the two are well and truly open,' said Jackie.

'No we talked because we are co-parents,' she said.

The two also discussed Jackie's love life.

The blonde beauty said she wants to find love again after newsreader Brooklyn Rose asked the host about the prospect of spending the rest of her life alone.

“I don't like that at all,” said Jackie.

'I don't think there's anything wrong with me for liking it. It's natural that we want humanity – that's who we are.

'The idea that it's going to be forever, that's not ideal, but if you say it's going to be for the next three to four years I'd be fine.'

Jackie has been married twice in the past, her first husband being DJ 'Ugly' Bill O'Neill in the late 90s.

Following their divorce, Bill moved to the United Kingdom, where he was originally born.

Jackie went on to marry British photographer Lee in 2003, and the couple welcomed their daughter Catalina “Kitty” Henderson in December 2010.

The couple announced their separation in October 2018, but continue to maintain a harmonious relationship as they co-parent their daughter.

Speaking to fans at the launch of Luke McLeod's Everyday Enlightenment book in February, the radio titan admitted he longs to find love and companionship again.

She explained that she felt 'something was missing' when she had lunch with McLeod last year when they broached the subject of her love life.

'I really want to find someone. I can't find him, I'm a little lost at the moment,” she tells him as they catch up.

When Luke asked why she was so desperate to be in a relationship, Jackie said she couldn't put her finger on it, but felt like a 'piece' of her was 'missing'.

'I have a lot of love to give or I want that affection, that company. I feel like something is missing in my life,' she added.
