It’s been a fantastic year so far for new video game releases with Palworld and Helldivers 2 especially taking the world by storm, and now another possible massive hit is on the horizon with Nightingale. This is a highly-anticipated first-person PvE open-world survival game, and it’s only natural that console players are wondering if Nightingale is coming to PS5 and Xbox post-early access release.
The release date and time for Nightingale early access is imminent. When it launches, you will be able to get a slew of Twitch Drops rewards by simply watching streamers online. You will definitely want to get these rewards as not only do they include free outfits, but they also include a really cute and little distinguished puppy pet.
Everyone on PC via both Steam and the Epic Games store will be able to enjoy the game later today. However, if you’re on PS5 and Xbox consoles, the unfortunate news is that you will have to watch others enjoy the game for the time being.
Will Nightingale come to PS5 and Xbox?
Nightingale is not coming to PS5 or Xbox consoles as of its early access launch on February 20th. Unfortunately, developer Inflexion Games has also not given any comment as to whether it will come to consoles post-early access launch.
While the developer’s not commenting on either PlayStation or Xbox systems is worrying, the better news is that the official FAQ says that ‘Nightingale is currently PC only’. Again, there’s no mention of PS5 or Xbox, but the use of ‘currently’ gives hope that it will eventually find its way onto other systems at a later date.
Although not stated by the developer, it’s possible the game could join consoles once early access ends. Per the early access overview on its Steam page, early access is planned to last between 9-12 months. So, if we are to see the game on consoles at all, 2025 is the safest bet.
As for how the full game will differ from early access, Inflexion Games says the game will ‘evolve and expand significantly’ through the additions of ‘more story content, new realm biomes to explore, as well as the introduction of the fabled City of Nightingale itself’.
It is not the full release launching today, but there’s still plenty of content to enjoy if you buy the game now. Some of the multitude of content includes realms to explore across forest, desert, and swamp biomes, a large variety of creatures to hunt down, and estate management with building and crafting tools. There’s multiplayer available with up to six player co-op, too.
