Apple’s 10th-gen iPad is the best entry-level model the company has ever put out. This model also happens to be the biggest update to the device since its inception, giving it a more modern look to match the rest of the lineup. With a design overhaul to replicate the more modern iPad Air and iPad Pro models that came before it, the new iPad has an edge-to-edge display, flat sides and a USB-C port. Apple also recently slashed the price to just $349 but some retailers are offering discounts to bring the price down yet further.

Inside, it’s powered by the Apple A14 Bionic chip and has a larger, 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display. The move to a flat-sided design doesn’t, however, mean compatibility with the Apple Pencil 2. Rather, the device maintains support for the original Apple Pencil. Like the iPad Air and iPad Mini, the new 10th-gen iPad supports Touch ID via the top button.

There are a few configuration options for the 10th-gen iPad. Here’s how US pricing breaks down in full:

- 256GB iPad (10th gen): $499
- 64GB iPad (10th gen, Wi-Fi + Cellular): $499

Apple’s recent price drop on the entry-level iPad means that the discounts aren’t as impressive as they once were, but Amazon will sell you the 64GB mode for just $329 today.
Best Buy is bundling in three months of Apple Music and Apple TV Plus, while three months of Fitness Plus is also included. (Apple itself offers three months of Apple TV Plus, Apple Fitness Plus and Apple Arcade with a new iPad.)

Target is currently listing the iPad (10th gen) at $100 more than Apple’s recent price reduction but that will surely change at some point. Target RedCard holders can take 5% off the purchase as a bonus, but you’re better off buying elsewhere right now.
Go straight to the source for your 10th-gen iPad, where you can choose the exact configuration you want and even get it engraved for free. Apple won’t be discounting the device, but you can pay in installments if that suits your budget better, and get 3% cash back if you pay using your Apple Card, which amounts to $10.47.
Those trading in an old device can also get up to $580 towards their new iPad, too.
In need of a cellular iPad? Verizon is a good place to pick one up for less, with a $180 trade-in offer for your old model if you hand it over within 30 days of purchase. Alternatively, buying a new 5G iPhone through Verizon will get you an iPad with $280 off, too.
Buyers can, as is always the case, use B&H’s own Payboo credit card to save on the tax. There’s currently an additional $20 discount for all buyers as well.
Walmart is currently offering the base model iPad for $339 which is $10 off the new $349 price even though the retailer lists it as a $110 saving over the original $449 price. Regardless, there are better deals available elsewhere currently.
