'I Don't Even Know Who He Is': Harris' Midwest Running Teammate Tim Walz Speaks to Wisconsin Residents

WISCONSIN — Voters Fox News Digital spoke to in battleground Wisconsin didn't particularly like Vice President Harris' running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn. Despite proximity or Midwestern characteristics .

“I mean, if you like people who are complete idiots, he’s great,” said Brian Morawski of Milwaukee County.

“I mean, he’s relatable as someone I really don’t like,” he said of Walz.

According to Altwies, she had heard his last name before, but didn't actually know who Harris' running mate was.

“I didn’t see him on TV or anything,” he said.

Harris and Walz are notable I have given fewer interviews than Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio.

Kathy Przekwas of Kenosha County said she “doesn’t like” Harris’ running mate “at all.”

“I see through him,” she said.

He explained that Walz appears to be “talking fast” and “dropping a lot of things that aren’t true, but he talks really fast.”

“I don’t like any of the things he did in Minnesota, you know, because I’m over all that and how he handled the pandemic.”

Although Fox News Digital only found voters who disliked Walz, Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Ben Wickler stated, “A lot of people told me, 'He's just like my dad.'”

“Tim Walz is a tremendous quality, especially for Wisconsin voters,” he said.

“He’s such a family person.”

According to the president, that's what Wisconsinites look for in good neighbors. “These things are very important,” he explained.

“And you see in Tim Walz the way he carries himself, the stories he tells, he is a good neighbor that everyone wants to have and be around.”

Asked about Walz, Wisconsin Republican Party Executive Director Andrew Iverson said, “I've actually heard from a lot of people who are really excited about Wisconsin's J.D. Vance.”

Sen. Vance, Trump's running mate, was born in the Midwest and raised in Ohio.

“A lot of people are excited about him because he has great stories to tell,” he says of the “Hillbilly Elegy” author.

As for Walz, Iverson says voters are aware of “his failed record.”

“They know that many Minnesotans actually crossed the border and moved to Wisconsin because of his failed policies as governor,” he added.

According to him, “people are more excited about JD Vance than Tim Walz” in Wisconsin.
