Breathe a sigh of relief in Szalai

Hours after Hungary assistant coach Adam Szalai collapsed during a Nations League match in Amsterdam, he reported on social networks. “Thanks for all the messages, I'm fine,” he messaged on his Instagram channel shortly before midnight. There is a red heart on it.

The 36-year-old assistant coach of the Hungarian national team collapsed on the sidelines during the early stages of Saturday night's Nations League match against the Netherlands (0:4) in Amsterdam. In the first half, the Hungarian Football Association announced that Szalay's condition was stable and he was conscious. The former Basel striker was taken to an Amsterdam hospital for tests. Hungarian media reported that Szalay had to undergo resuscitation treatment.

Freiburg is a great place

The German team defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 7-0 in the UEFA Nations League. This is not only the biggest victory since Julian Nagelsmann became the national team coach. It also means the continuation of a strange series, as the DFB's previous three international matches have all ended with equally unusual results in Freiburg.

Germany also won 7-0 against Kuwait in 2002, Malta in 2004 and Luxembourg in 2006. All three matches are Test matches before major tournaments and are played at the old Dresham Stadium.

The resounding victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina was Germany's first official match in Freiburg and its debut at the Europark Stadium. Two international matches have previously been held in Freiburg. In 2000, Liechtenstein lost 8-2, and in 1913 the German team lost 1-2 to Switzerland.

Sunday's game

In Group 2 of the A-League, the Italian team and the French team have been determined to enter the quarter-finals. They will have a direct confrontation in Milan at 8:45 pm. Israel will face Belgium in Budapest and must win by at least four goals to avoid relegation.

England are hoping to gain promotion from the Second Division again. To do this, it is necessary to win the long-distance showdown with Greece, which both sides have in common. The advantage for England is a better goal difference. At 6 pm, the “Three Lions” will face Ireland at home, while the Greek team will face the relegated Finland team. The two teams did not score a point.

Another group in the B League also decided to advance directly through a long-distance matchup. Austria and Norway top the table with ten points each, with Austria having a six-goal advantage. Finally, their neighbors Switzerland take on Slovenia, while Haaland's Norway will also host bottom-placed Kazakhstan. Both games start at 6 p.m. (Raham/Syrian Development Authority/Department of Political Affairs)

Players come and go, but the team remains the same. Few clubs have lived up to this age-old motto as successfully as the Rapperswil-Jonah Lakers. One of their all-time great players, Roman Cervenka, is gone. Someone better came along: Malte Strömwall.

The better term Malte Strömwall (30) is of course controversial and should not be taken entirely seriously. After all, Roman Cervenka (38) dominated the league for five years while playing for the Lakers, playing in 245 games.
