How to unlock and increase your moves

With the recent introduction of Dynamax Pokémon to Pokémon GOplayers want to unlock and upgrade their Maximum Moves to further increase their powers in Maximum Battles. The new groundbreaking system has been revamped Pokémon GO for many players, this means new mechanics to master and a whole new set of Pokémon to catch and add to your collection.

New Dynamax Pokémon are added regularly at various levels, including the newest addition, Dynamax Falinks. All new Pokémon can only be caught after you defeat them in Max Battles, but you can only use your own Dynamax Pokémon in these battles, which means there aren't many options when choosing your squad at the moment. That's why it's important that your Dynamax Pokémon are as powerful as possible and they have all the tools at their disposal.

How to unlock new maximum moves in Pokémon GO

Three moves to learn for each Dynamax Pokémon

Each Dynamax Pokémon can have three moves while in Dynamax form. In each Max battle, you'll start using your Pokémon's standard moves, but as you fill your Max Meter, these new options become available. After catching them for the first time, you will only have access to Maximum Attack, which will allow you to damage your opponent. However, there there are also two more moves that can be unlocked for all Pokémon: Max Guard and Max Spirit.

To unlock new moves, you will need Max Particles and Candy for the specific Pokémon you want to teach it. New moves can be unlocked by scrolling down to the Maximum Moves section of a given Pokémon's profile. Initially, Max Guard and Max Spirit devices will appear as locked. Just click on the one you want to add and it will show you the requirements to unlock it.

To unlock each of the new moves you will need 400 Maximum Particles along with 50 Candy of the corresponding Pokémon. The maximum number of particles can be obtained by visiting new power points, but they are easy to find. Candy can be obtained for each Pokemon in a number of ways, including catching more of them or transferring duplicates you no longer need. Once you have enough Maximum Particles and Candies, you can click on the train and your Dynamax Pokémon will learn a new Maximum Move.

How to improve maximum moves in Pokémon GO

In addition to learning each of the three maximum moves, each of them can be further improved. All three have three separate levels. Level 1, Level 2 and Max! Unlike learning moves, which have the same requirements for each Pokémon, the amount of resources needed to improve each move varies depending on its strength.

If you click Maximum Move and want to update your Pokémon's profile, you will be able to do so. However, the minimum for each Pokémon to upgrade any of its moves to level 2 is Max 600 particles and 100 candies. At least with the amount to upgrade to Max 1400 particles, 100 candies and 40 XL candies.

Unlocking and Upgrading Max Moves in Pokémon GO will be essential in some of the more difficult max battles to come, but it will be a costly journey if you want to get them all to a fully upgraded level.
