Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer is the main seller of the game. Even with the lackluster campaign of the game, the online still has meat. With all the older modes coming, there are a few new ones. One of which is called Cutthroat, and if you follow along, we’ll show you how to play it in Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Warfare 3: What is Cutthroat?

Knowing how the mode works is better than just going in blind. So before we go through how to play, let’s run through what the mode is in Modern Warfare 3. First, Cutthroat plays a lot like Gunefight. But the main difference is that instead of 2v2, it’s 3v3. So if you know how to play Gunfight, congratulations, you know the basics of Cutthroat.

Opting for 3v3, results in faster matches, which can help you unlock things like camos faster. Because of its speed, you’ll need some good weapons to accommodate that. Overall it takes most of Gunfight and makes it even more hectic, so matches can change on a dime if you’re not fast enough

How to play cutthroat?

For those who are unfamiliar with how Gunfight and Cutthroat works, it’s a close quarter-round-based mode. You have one life, per round. So when you die, you can wait to be revived, or wait till the next round to play

Having 2v2 is somewhat slower with fewer players, but with that extra teammate, matches can be over in no time. A good piece of advice for this mode is to keep on moving because your life is literally on the line and it can’t be wasted. On top of that, your loadout matters quite a bit in this mode — more than playing something like team deathmatch.

I usually don’t play modes like this, as my team never communicates well. But for Cutthroat, being able to talk about a plan and execute works wonders. I think this falls on the fact that it’s one of the smaller game modes.
