Locked Diaries are the key to a very complicated mystery in Modern Warfare Zombies. In this guide, you’ll learn how to get a Locked Diary and how to use a Locked Diary in MWZ.
How to find Locked Diaries in Modern Warfare Zombies
The only way to get Locked Diaries in Modern Warfare Zombies is through the Reward Rift acquired after defeating the worm boss in the Act 4 mission called Bad Signal. Once you get your Locked Diary, exfil, and you’ll keep it in your backpack.
There are four different types of Locked Diaries: Cryo, Dead Wire, Napalm, and Brain Rot. You’ll know which Locked Diary you have from the item’s description.
People have reported getting different Locked Diaries each time they defeat the Dark Aether worm boss, but I’ve seen the majority of people get only the Icy Locked Diary which leads me to believe you can only get one at a time. When we know more, we’ll update this article.
How to open Locked Diaries in Modern Warfare Zombies
The puzzle behind Locked Diaries is getting access to the Dark Aether Rifts. Once you have a Locked Diary, you need to place it on the correct pedestal near the Dark Aether tornado. If it’s right, the pedestal will light up. And that’s all you need to do with the Locked Diary.
However, to fully use the Locked Diary, the current theory is you need to acquire a Sigil that matches the same element. Not much is known about Sigils yet, but they are required to open the Locked Diaries which ultimately gets you into a Dark Aether Rift.
Again, once we know more about Locked Diaries and Sigils, we’ll update this article. But to help you out for now, you get a Lost Diary from the Dark Aether worm god, you place it on the correct pedestal to use it, and you need a Sigil to activate the Locked Diary.
