Nothing ruins a good gaming session worse than finding a game-breaking bug that won’t let you continue. These things can happen for so many reasons. Code can tangle itself up and create scenarios that cause the game to bug. Cyberpunk 2077 is no stranger to this problem and is probably better known for them than anything on the market. Now, with the release of the Phantom Liberty update, Cyberpunk 2077 has run into a game-breaking bug in the Run This Town mission.

What is the bug?

PC Invasion

This bug is found right at the end of the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion. It occurs just as you need to disguise yourself as Agular and choose the next puppet of the Dogtown leadership. As you try to enter the lift to take you to the top of Black Saphire, the lift won’t activate, and you’re softlocked, unable to complete Run This Town.

The bug seems to be caused by leaving the Get it Together mission by shooting your way out. However, this is quite common, as it’s the funniest way to finish the mission.

How to fix the Run This Town bug

Currently, there are a few things you should try to repair this issue.

  • Check your game files – In Steam, simply click on the game and select settings. You can check the game files from here. In GOG, select the settings menu beside the game name, and select, check files.
  • Reload an old save – By going back to a previous Cyberpunk 2077 save, you can try to avoid the bug triggering. You may have to go quite far to avoid the bug in Run This Town.
  • Stand up – The elevator needs to scan your eyes to let you enter. Make sure you are upright.
  • Wait for the fix – Eventually, CD Projekt Red will patch the bug in Run This Town, as they have with Cyberpunk 2077 forever.
