There are certain sea creatures in this game that require you to catch them a certain way for the best quality. So how do you find and catch the Spider Crab in Dave the Diver?

While you can catch most fish just by swinging your weapon or firing your Harpoon, this isn’t the best way for this creature. Let’s go over how to properly find and catch the Spider Crab.

Dave the Diver: Where to find and catch 3-star Spider Crab

Depending on how you catch a sea creature, they’ll range from one to three stars. How you can find and catch the Spider Crab in Dave the Diver is in the Blue Hole depths with a rock, Shovel, or Steel Net Gun. You’ll spot a Spider Crab or two on the ocean floor of the Blue Hole Depths, and there are multiple ways to harvest them, similarly to catching Jellyfish.

First off, make your way to the Blue Hole Depths, which starts around 130 meters deep. The Spider Crabs themselves are around 190 meters deep, resting on the ground. They aren’t very friendly, so don’t try to get too close. But if you’re looking to catch one, there is are the bad ways, or the good way.

When you first come upon a Spider Crab, you’ll notice that there are some yellow boxes nearby them. If you open one, it’ll likely hold a Shovel inside. You can actually use Shovels as weapons, and it’ll make Dave push downwards onto an enemy.

This will immediately kill the Spider Crab, but it sadly only leaves you with a 1-star Spider Crab. Dave can also drop rocks onto them once he unlocks the Gloves in chapter 2. Again, this doesn’t yield you a good-quality crab.

The best way to catch a 3-star Spider Crab is with a Net Gun. It seems as though players on Steam Forums have discovered that an upgraded Net Gun will work. Specifically, the level four upgrade, which is the Steel Net Gun.

Upgrading your weapons, especially to their final level, takes a lot of crafting materials. But once you do, you can catch the highest-quality Spider Crab.
