Towards the end of Diablo 4 Season 2’s seasonal questline, you finally get the chance to take the fight directly to Lord Zir’s forces. With Erys running low on hope, she tasks you with putting a stop to the Blood Harvests that have been taking place across Sanctuary since the Season began.
The resulting quest, titled Battle of Fear and Faith, is a nice hype-builder for the finale to follow, but it can be confusing to complete, given the vague nature of the instructions it presents you with. If you’ve fallen victim to this confusion, then read on to learn how to complete Battle of Fear and Faith in Diablo 4 Season 2.
How to get through Battle of Fear and Faith in Diablo 4 Season 2
You’ll start this quest right after completing Beckoning Thirst, the lengthy Bloodseeker hunt that marks the midpoint of this Season. After returning to the Magistrate’s Office and finding Erys absent, the talking skull you awakened earlier will direct you to the Cathedral of Light, where she has apparently fled. She’ll ask you to take out as many of Lord Zir’s vampires as you can, then you’ll receive your quest objective: Seek out and stop the Blood Harvest.
This is quite a vague description, but essentially what it boils down to is ‘kill enemies during a Blood Harvest event.’ As I covered in my Blood Harvest guide, these are events that take place all across Sanctuary, and there’s always one active at any given time. To start this quest, open your map and locate the current Blood Harvest. You’ll be able to tell where it is by the dark green coloring on that section of the map.
Once this is done, travel to the nearest Waypoint and walk right over. In the Blood Harvest, all you need to do is kill enemies to fill up the red quest progression bar and win the Battle of Fear and Faith. You can do this simply by killing the weaker mass-spawning enemies that populate the Blood Harvest area, or you can take on the different activities within the Blood Harvest, such as summoning Bloodseekers or completing Tree of Whispers objectives.
Either way, it should only take a few minutes of fighting to fill up the bar and ‘stop the Blood Harvest,’ thus completing this quest’s objective. It’s worth noting that, despite the narrative implications, completing this quest will not actually prevent future Blood Harvests from occurring: the system will go on working as normal for the duration of the season.
In addition to the Blood Harvest objective, Battle of Fear and Faith also asks you to complete chapter 3 of your seasonal journey in order to progress. Interestingly, after completing the Blood Harvest task, the seasonal journey one just disappeared for me, even though I hadn’t finished chapter 3 yet. This is likely a bug, so be prepared to complete chapter 3 before you can fully finish this quest, and remember to claim your rewards for the chapter in order to officially finish it if you do.
Rewards
After finishing this quest and reporting back to Erys, you’ll receive a nice batch of rewards for your efforts. These include the Rare Blood Magus Gloves, a Potent Blood Cache, a random Pact item, and the Moonrise Vampiric Power, a top-tier choice for classes that rely on Basic Skills, such as Druid or Rogue.
And there you have it: a full guide on how to complete Battle of Fear and Faith in Diablo 4 Season 2. With this one out of the way, the path is clear to challenge Lord Zir himself, and bring a close to the endless night that has fallen over Sanctuary.
