Blaziken is the final evolution of everyone’s favorite Gen 3 chicken, Torchic. This Fire/Fighting Type is a formidable foe, made even more dangerous with its Flying Tera Type. If you’re struggling, let me show you how to beat the 7 star Blaziken Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to beat the Blaziken Tera Raid

The Flying Tera type gives Blaziken a ton of coverage it wouldn’t usually have. This Pokemon also has a move pool that shuts down many traditionally strong raid options. Keep in mind that Tera Raid Pokemon have more moves than usual, so here’s what you’re up against:

Blaziken Moveset

Tera Type: Flying

  • Brave Bird
  • Bulk Up
  • Earthquake
  • Overheat
  • Low Kick
  • Swords Dance
  • Blaze Kick

If you’re hoping to lean on Annihialape this time around, it simply won’t work. Blaziken will spam Brave Bird, which will kill Annihialape in a single hit, even if it’s perfectly trained. Fortunately, we can use Bellibolt to take down Blaziken, and it’s so strong that you can even do it solo.

Here’s the Moveset I recommend for Bellibolt.

Bellibolt Moveset

Tera Type: Electric
Nature: Modest
Ability: Electromorphosis
Held Item: Magnet

  • Electric Terrain
  • Parabolic Charge
  • Charge
  • Your Preference

You can spam Parabolic Charge for this battle, and the strategy doesn’t get more advanced than that. Parabolic Charge heals whenever it hits, and as long as you remember to Terrastalize as early as possible, you should be fine. The Electromorphosis Ability increases the power of Bellibolt’s next Electric attack whenever it gets hit. As you’re using Parabolic Charge repeatedly, you’ll hit hard enough to take Blaziken out before the time runs out.

You can use the same build I’ve listed above, and I can confirm this works because I beat Blaziken with AI teammates on my 1st attempt. You may want to be more vigilant and set up with Electric Terrain. That said, I managed to beat Blaziken with a suboptimal setup, so there is some room for error.

Blaziken can start spamming moves like Bulk Up, which can pose a severe problem. From my limited testing, this seems to happen less often if Bellibolt isn’t holding an item. I can’t confirm this 100%, but try it without a held item if the strategy isn’t working.

Can I use any other Pokemon to beat Blaziken?

While I’ve not tested it myself, other Trainers have reported similar results using Miraidon instead of Bellibolt. Once again, Parabolic Charge is the move to go for, and you can use Electro Drift if Miraidon is at max HP.
