Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Level 2-6 100% Guide (All Presents)
Here is how to get everything on Level 2-6 in Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
Thankfully, Mario vs. Donkey Kong has a Two-Player Mode which allows fans to enjoy the game with a buddy. This guide will tell fans everything they need to know to set up the local co-op multiplayer in Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
How to Play Mario vs. Donkey Kong Two-Player Mode
Gamers can enter Two-Player Mode in Mario vs. Donkey by selecting the Controllers option on the Main Menu screen and setting up another controller. If players have already entered a level, they can simply connect a paired controller to the console and press L+R or SL+SR to enter the game. Toad will appear on screen inside a bubble and float towards Player 1. Gamers can also pause the game and connect it from the Controllers menu.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
supports single joy-con controllers, so as long as players own two joy-cons, they’ll be able to enjoy two-player mode.
To exit Two-Player Mode in Mario vs. Donkey Kong, gamers have to press “-” while on the Level Selection menu. A confirmation message will appear; press OK to confirm and disconnect the second player. Alternatively, gamers can also choose the Controllers option in the Pause menu and only reconnect one of the controllers. However, this will restart a level from scratch.
How Multiplayer Mode Works in Mario vs. Donkey Kong
In Two-Player Mode, Player 1 will play as Mario, and Player 2 will play as Toad. In Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Mario and Toad have the same moves and controls, so there is no disadvantage when playing as Player 2.
Gamers won’t have to resort to as many tricks to jump higher in Two-Player Mode, as they can simply hop on top of their teammate to significantly boost their jump, but this isn’t the only perk of playing a two-person game.
When a player is hit in Two-Player Mode, they will lose a life, but the level won’t restart if the other player is still alive; they’ll return in a bubble and will be able to rejoin their teammate, as long as the other player doesn’t die while the other is returning to the game. This is particularly handy on levels that are a bit more tricky. It allows players to take turns trying to move to get farther into the level without having to restart.
Gamers will have to collect the same items in Two-Player Mode. However, there is an additional key that they will have to find to move to Area 2 of each level. Typically, players would simply have to find the golden key and bring it to the door to unlock it, but in Two-Player Mode, gamers must get a small grey key first in order to get it to the door to remove a lock on it.
