Back in September, Steamforged Games announced a Kickstarter campaign for a Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion board game. Now, that campaign for the canonical companion to Guerilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West has gone live. It has already doubled its funding goal.
The Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion Kickstarter Campaign
According to its Kickstarter page, Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion is a cooperative narrative board game with deck-building and equipment-crafting elements. Players take on the role of Marshals as they explore the Forbidden West, facing both rebels and dangerous machines.
This is the most recent crowdfunding campaign by Steamforged Games, which has made a great reputation in the tabletop community. This is thanks to its distinctly detailed tabletop miniatures seen in their Epic Encounters products, and their bespoke licensed games like Runescape Kingdoms and the Dark Souls TTRPG.
And in keeping with the appeal of Kickstarter incentives, Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion, does have rewards for early adopters. In addition to a lower MSRP than the retail version, the campaign sports several exclusive expansions, including a playable Aloy.
Finally, if you back the campaign and own the Horizon Zero Dawn board game, you will receive an upgrade pack at no additional charge. This will allow you to use Horizon Zero Dawn characters and scenarios in Seeds of Rebellion.
There is only one pledge level for the Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion Kickstarter. The Marshal Pledge (MSRP of $147) will get you the core game, the Horizon Zero Dawn upgrade pack, and any and all unlocked stretch goals.
Bear in mind that the pledge does not include shipping costs. Given the size of the miniatures and the heft of the boxes, those shipping costs may not be cheap either depending on where you live.
At the time of writing, Horizon Forbidden West: Seeds of Rebellion has more than doubled its funding goal of $150,367 with $339,744 raised. The campaign will conclude on December 5, 2023.
